Born and raised in Edmonton.  Did his undergrad at the University of Alberta with a degree in biological Sciences.  Graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2000 with distinction.  He has practiced in Edmonton and surrounding areas since graduating.  He is married and has 2 daughters.  His interests are golf, cycling, outdoor activities and loves DIY home projects.

The Vision Gallery Julie Dien-FongDr. Julie Dien-Fong

Julie was born in Saskatchewan, but moved at a young age and she grew up in North Edmonton. She has settled down in the same area with her husband James, their three children and their family dog, Toffee. Julie graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2007 on the Dean’s Honour List. She enjoys sharing good food with great friends, and dabbles in photography and painting in her spare time.

The Vision Gallery - Alysha HirjeeDr. Alysha Hirjee

|South Edmonton|

Dr. Hirjee was born in Calgary but moved to Edmonton in 2002. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta in 2006. She then went on to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, graduating with honourary distinction in 2011. Dr. Hirjee has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including Lasik and refractive surgery centers, a veterans hospital and ocular disease and cataract focused clinics. Her special interest areas include working with children to assess their binocular vision and learning needs, treating and managing glaucoma and fitting all types of contact lenses.

She has been fortunate enough to attend an eyecare mission trip to Honduras where her team provided eye care to thousands in need. Dr. Hirjee is passionate about eye health and is dedicated to providing quality eye care to her patients. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She also loves cooking, photography and traveling.

The Vision Gallery - Y-Nin Huynh-WongDr. Y-Nhi Huynh-Wong

|North Edmonton|

Y-Nhi is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended the University of Manitoba where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with Honors. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2005. At the age of four, Y-Nhi started wearing her first pair of glasses. She strongly believes in the importance of early eye examinations in children and for everyone to have regular eye examinations.
In 2007, she was fortunate to have volunteered with The Third World Eye Care Society to provide eye care to rural and underprivileged areas of Vietnam. She has also proudly coached a U15 girls club volleyball team in 2013. In her spare time Y-Nhi participates in a recreational volleyball league, enjoys vinyasa yoga, gluten-free baking, gardening, walking her dog Sparco, and is a car enthusiast. She also has an appreciation for fashion and photographing various places she has traveled. Some of her favourite destinations include: Croatia, Montenegro, France, Italy, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Vision Gallery - Rajkamal PhulDr. Rajkamal Phul

|Beaumont|South Edmonton|

Born and raised in Edmonton, Dr. Rajkamal Phul completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta and went on to the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, where she graduated with honours and also received the A. W. Cole Award for Clinical Excellence. In her spare time, Rajkamal enjoys reading, spending time with her family and friends, and training in classical dance. Daily at The Vision Gallery Dr Phul enjoys connecting with her new patients and looks forward to providing quality care and a comfortable experience for all ages!
