An Artist’s Take On Nearsighted Views

Philip Barlow, a Cape Town-based artist, has dedicated his work to sharing the view-point of those with nearsightedness. His hyper-realistic oil paintings align themselves to a camera out of focus or, for many, the human eye without glasses.

Blurring lines between scenes and locations, Barlow captures a common viewpoint that’s rarely painted.
